Men claim Central District Title and advance to second straight National Tournament

The SCC men's soccer team knocked off Heartland CC in a double OT thriller by a final score of 1-0.  The win gave SCC their first ever Central District Championship in school history!  The men have advanced to the National Tournament in Wichita, KS for a second straight year.

SCC and Heartland battled it out during regulation and overtime was needed to settle the tie.  It was a back and forth game with stellar defensive plays on both sides to keep it a 0-0 tie after 90 minutes.  At the start of overtime, SCC jumped on Heartland quick but couldn't find the back of the net after the first overtime.  The Cougars didn't back down and in the 104th minute, Jardell Conteh ended the game with a brilliant header from a cross coming from Dylan Hammond.

The Cougars stormed the field claiming it's first Central District Title in program history!

SCC will find out which seed they received for the National Tournament during the live bracket reveal tomorrow afternoon.
