Ryne Foster is entering his 5th season at the Cougars hitting coach. The Cougars were lead to their most successful season at the plate under Coach Foster's helm in 2022. The #SCCougs led the country a number of categories and were near the top in several others: 1st-SB's Total, SB's per game, HBP's per game and came in the top 20 in Team Batting Average, OBP%! Before his time with SCC, Foster spent the 2017-18 season as an assistant at Bowling Green State University, NCAA D1 in Bowling Green OH, working with the catchers, first basemen, and hitters.  Mentoring All-MAC 2nd Team first basemen Randy Righter.  Ryne also served as an assistant coach at Cleveland State Community College in Cleveland, Tennessee from 2015-17. Across his two seasons, while working with the catchers and hitters, CSCC went 63-39 in two years, and earned a spot in the national rankings on two separate occasions.  CSCC hitters hit .302, slugging 96 home runs, 198 doubles. and 29 triples in two seasons. As recruiting coordinator at CSCC he sent 10 players on to NCAA D1 schools, 14 on to NCAA D2 schools, and 6 on to the NAIA.

Prior to coaching at Cleveland State, Foster was an Assistant Baseball Coach at Georgia Southwestern, from 2013-2015, coaching outfielders and hitters.  During Foster’s tenure at Georgia Southwestern, the team improved in all offensive categories and wins from 2014 to 2015. 

Before coaching at Georgia Southwestern, Ryne was a Graduate Assistant at Concordia University, in Ann Arbor, Michigan from 2011-2013, coaching infielders, outfielders and hitters.  Foster coached the Indiana Pony Express Baseball team in 2011 and was also a volunteer Assistant Baseball Coach at Danville Community High School in Indiana from 2009-2011.  In 2009, while completing his undergraduate degree, Foster was an Assistant Baseball Coach for Madison Grant High School in Indiana in 2009.

As a Baseball player, Foster played from 2004-2008 at Anderson University.  While at Anderson University, Foster played the positions of catcher, first base and third base.  He played in two conference tournaments and the team advanced to the conference championship game in 2007.  Ryne also played Basketball at Anderson University for three years, 2004-2006 and 2009.  Foster played center for the team and the team was ranked number 22 in the country for NCAA D3 in 2009. 

Foster received his B.A. in Mathematics from Anderson University and his M.S. in Organizational Leadership & Administration from Concordia University in Ann Arbor (MI).

Ryne was born and raised in Danville, IN and he is the son of Rick & Alice Foster.  Foster’s brother, Ty, played college baseball at Manchester College (IN).
