Softball Wins 3 of 4

St. Charles took on Kaskaskia on Friday, March 6 and East Central on Saturday, March 7. The Cougars won the double header on Friday and split the day with East Central Saturday.

The first game of the double header on Friday against Kaskaskia, the team put up 16 hits and plated 10 runs. Maggie Dooley was 3 for 4 at the plate with a triple and scoring 2 of the Cougars 10 runs and Amanda Downing was 2 for 3 at the plate with 2 RBIs. Elizabeth Davis on the mound pitched all 7 innings while only giving up 4 hits and 2 walks and striking out 5 Kaskaskia hitters.

Game two of the day was an offensive battle between the two teams. St. Charles put up 16 hits on the board and came away with the win 14 to 10. Elizabeth Davis was 3 for 4 at the plate with a double and 2 RBIs and Amanda Downing went 3 for 4 as well with 3 doubles.

The Cougars traveled to East Central Saturday for their first set of road games. St. Charles took game one by a score of 8 to 5. The team came out hot with 12 hits and Amanda Downing hitting a three-run homerun for the Cougars. While Elizabeth Davis and her defense got the job done and held the Falcons to 5 runs.

The last game of the weekend did not go in favor of the Cougars. East Central put up 16 hits against St. Charles' pitching staff, while the defense gave up 5 errors in the game.

The Cougars improve their season record to 5 and 5 and will be back in action with a double header at home on Tuesday, March 10 taking on St. Louis Community College at 2:00 and 4:00.
