St. Charles Community College Athletics

Dr. Kristen Drummond began her tenure with St. Charles Community Cougars January 2023 as the newest Director of Intercollegiate Athletics. Dr. Drummond has an athletic career spanning approximately 16 years with extensive experience in policy development, strategic planning, fiduciary management, organizational compliance and departmental assessment. Dr. Drummond has obtained her leadership ability and athletic expertise through her tenure within the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I & II sectors, and this knowledge she is excited to share with the Cougar family. 

Prior to her arrival at St. Charles Community, Dr. Drummond was employed at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. In her working capacity, Dr. Drummond oversaw multiple divisions within her five year timeframe. As the Executive Director of Student Experience & Engagement, the Associate Athletic Director for NCAA Compliance and the Senior Woman Administrator, Dr. Drummond's responsibilities were vast. From being charged with student leadership development, to gender equity management, to student incidental supervision and risk mitigation, Dr. Drummond was tasked with ensuring efficient program operations. 

Prior to her time in Maryland, Dr. Drummond was additionally employed at Delaware State University. During her employment, Dr. Drummond was governed under the umbrella of the Office of the Provost and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. Her initial responsibility within the organization included the management of academic probation programming as the Director of Academic Programming. As Dr. Drummond excelled with and unprecedented program completion success rate of 84 percent, she ultimately transitioned into the role of Interim Associate Athletic Director for Internal Operations before her departure. 

Preceding Delaware State University, Dr. Drummond worked within the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) Conference as the Assistant Athletic Director of NCAA Compliance at Cheyney University. Dr. Drummond's position within this institution was created in an effort to assist in the stability of retention and student-athlete eligibility. 

Dr. Drummond has additionally had opportunities at Hampton University and the University of Iowa. At Hampton University, Drummonnd served as the Director of NCAA Compliance. In this capacity she aided in the successful implementation of new academic inititiatives, while also managing the day-to-day operations of 17 NCAA DI athletic programs. At the University of Iowa, Drummond was assessed caseloads of student-athletes who were identified as academically at risk. She additionally was pivotal in student-athlete diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programming.

Dr. Drummond is married to Damion Drummond and they have two children, Dane (10) and Penn (7).
